Unfortunately there aren’t many doctors around the country with enough MM experience yet, and IMO, the key to success in the approach is finding a neurosurgeon and staff with true MM experience. There are so many important details/factors to consider when treating this rare disease, that’s why a complete list of people involved in the treatment need to be experienced as well to assure a successful outcome. No two cases of MM are alike. I would bet any neurosurgeon is capable of performing the surgery; it’s the gazillion technical factors in the approach where the experience is so important. One bad call from inexperience is all it took in my family’s case, so please keep that in mind when searching for a surgeon to treat this rare disease.
