In Stanford, Husband Surgery Tomorrow
Jun 24th, 2008 at 10:42pm

We made it all the way from NY and tomorrow is almost here.  My husbands surgery is tomorrow with Dr. Steinberg.  Can't say enough great things about the entire Stanford MoyaMoya team.  Everyone has been amazing.  We even met others with MoyaMoya.  Hoping that surgery goes as smooth as the past week has been here with all the testing.  Will keep everyone posted.  Don't know what we would have done without this site.  Thanks to all.

So wonderful!!!!

We will be saying safe surgery prayers for your husband!!  Aren't they just wonderful out there, they will make everything smooth for you.

Dr. Steinberg is such a blessing.  You are in great, miraculous hands...literally.

Keep us updated on his post-op.

Much love,

Lisa,

I'm sure things have been crazy, but how was your husband's surgery?

Been thinking about you and yours.

Surgery was a Success!!!  It was a very long day but my husband made it through.  Dr. Steinberg said that it was good thing my husband was here because he had a negative 0.6 blood flow on his left side. He increased the flow by 30% which was awesome.  Dr. Steinberg is amazing as well as all the other doctors and nurses that took care of him yesterday.  He will leave ICU today and go to a regular room.  He was in a little pain but other than that he is doing great.  I am truly greatful to Dr. Steinberg, DJ and this site, can't imagine where we would be without any of them.  I will continue to keep you posted and encourage anyone who has been diagnosed with Moyamoya to get immediate treatment.

Lisa

Hi Lisa

I am following your husbands progress with great interest, and am so glad to hear he is doing okay.

I'll be in the same boat in a few weeks, travelling to another city to have my bypass surgery.  I'm in Australia so it is about a 2 hr flight, my husband and I have separated recently so I'll be doing it all on my own as my mother will be staying behind to look after my little girl.

I wish you both all the best and your husband a speedy and complete recovery.   ;Grin

Looking forward to more great news,

Kylie
