Six months, then if everything is at it should be, three years and after that I believe it's ten years.

I would think with so many out of town MM patients at Stanford, it would be up to that particular individuals case as to the follow-up. As far as, if there’s a policy at Stanford regarding a follow-up for MM, I would ask Dr. Steinberg that question since every case could be different, with some having only one surgery and watching for progression, while another having direct or indirect surgeries, etc. I would think it would all depend on the case.

Aloha! I haven't heard from you in a while...

I agree with Mar~I would think although a "general" follow-up plan may be in place, it would be good to speak to your medical team regarding your specific situation.  i.e. If one is having symptoms, etc., then follow-up may be sooner (and tests may be ordered).  My neurosurgeon makes annual visits to Hawaii which allows all of his pts here to do an annual follow-up with him.  It doesn't hurt to give your medical professional's office a call...  Wink

Take care,
Shan

p.s. Where did the pic of your doggy go?  Wink

It's been 2-1/2 years since my surgeries and I haven't had any problems since.  I get an MRI/MRA done annually and send  the copies to Dr. Steinberg for review.  I just sent my most current films to him and is waiting for his response.  Will let you know what he says.  As Kim said earlier, supposedly every three years (well, my 3 years comes up in April 2009) we'll see what Dr. Steinberg says....

Aloha,
Jan
