I really don’t know how to explain MM and epilepsy together, except to say, we see MMD misdiagnosed sooooooo often, that it makes me question any diagnosis of epilepsy with MMD in the first place, because as I understand it, epilepsy is defined, as a neurological condition that produces brief disturbances in the normal electrical functions of the brain. Well, MMD is a condition that can produce those episodes, so do you call it epilepsy at all, when MMD may in fact may be the cause of those seizures? See what I mean? Many MM patients suffer seizures, before and after diagnosis and surgery, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they should be diagnosed with epilepsy. Over 50% of the time, the cause of epilepsy is unknown, so when a person that is diagnosed as having epilepsy because they are having repeated seizures, it could simply be MMD and the reason for those episodes. I hope that made sense. I get all beflustered trying to understand it myself, let alone try to explain what I mean…LOL
