One down and one to go
Oct 21st, 2008 at 8:11am

I know its been longer than it should have been for me to post this update on myself.  But I saw that my wife posted my progress for me while I was still in the hospital.  I thought that was sufficient enough...for the time at least...now I wanted to come here and post my progress myself.

First off...I had my first of 2 surgeries on Oct. 2, 2008.  I won't comment yet on the care I received  Angry as I still need to go down for my second surgery which I hope will be this Oct. 30...which was SUPPOSED to be this coming Thursday (Oct. 23)...but I'm not going to go into all that...(as I said, I will comment on the care at a later date).  I've been progressing (getting better) everyday.  I'm finally starting to feel like myself...the dizziness and headaches are starting to subside.  I was able to get in touch with SC_Girl (who is doing well by the way).  She has been a great help and mentor to me during this time.  It has made it easier for me to be able to talk to someone who has dealt with the same things that I am dealing with.

I want to say...prayer ABSOLUTELY works!!!  Not to say I ever doubted because I didnt.  But I feel my progress in this situation is a true testimony to the power of prayer.  And to everyone who has said a prayer for me and my family...THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! Smiley

To all of you going through tough times...I can relate.  And my prayers are going to you.  It's bad enough that we all have to deal with this disease (which I am starting to feel has a stronger statistic than 1 in every 2 million) but to be given the run around, insurance trouble, poor hospital care (staff), etc. that those of us are dealing with makes it that much more difficult to sustain.  But I remain in prayer....I refuse to give up.  As I hope is the same state of mind all of you remain in.  God is awesome.  He never said the road would be an easy one to travel, but He did say He would be by our side the whole time.  I place my total trust that He will hold my hand and walk me through this whole ordeal....be it difficult, or be it easy.  Its not a religion...its a relationship...and if you dont have one with Him...then I simply encourage you to find your way to Him.

Thank you again to everyone here for your thoughts, support and most importantly...prayers.  We can all get through this.  We all have a lesson to either teach or learn...whether we know it or not.  Life is good, and I am happy to be blessed enough to be living it.

God bless you all...

Under His authority,

Fred

Hello, Iam new to the web page but ,I really like what you posted about having a relationship with God. I also have moya moya but with God it's not so hard. He really is a loving and caring God. I have gone through two surgeries one on 4-10-08 and the other on 5-27-08 both went very well. Iam back at work and thing are looking very good. I pray for everyone who has moyamoya cause it's alot to deal with everyday. I am also very thankful to be alive and well. Iam 34 years old not married or have no children. My family and friends are very supportive to me. But I wonder if I will ever have my own famliy? like if  I were to have a baby would my baby have go through what I did or will having a baby put my health at risk? I pray and believe but still I wonder.
Thank you Love and blessing to all
Moe
