One year Anniversary - Life is the Best!
Nov 1st, 2008 at 6:22pm

Halloween was the first anniversary of my first surgery. The anniversary of the second surgery will be November 7th. Irene, my dear, life-long friend and Moyamoya sister had her surgeries at the same time. Dr. Steinberg's skill is amazing; that he could schedule and manage two surgeries at a time is beyond amazing. I got a call from Irene today. She and I are both happy, healthy and grateful for our lives. We're both do our best to make the most of every day. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Steinberg and his thoughtful and skillful team. You, Jill will be forever in the hearts of me and my family. Thank you, all.

Congratulations Kim!  That first year milestone is especially huge.  I find myself spending serious time reflecting as each year passes.  The road one travels as they go through their moyamoya experience is indescribably profound.  You've come out "the other side" so to speak though, and I'm proud of you as I'm proud of all moyamoya patients.  You guys are my heroes!

Lots of love,

Jill

Thank you. It is wonderful to have all of you to share this event with. Today is the anniversary of surgery #2. You Jill and all of the staff at Stanford are heroes; me, I'm just very, very blessed and grateful.

This summer, when I started in earnest to resurrect our soap making business and working on the short plat of my ten acres, I found I was nearly overwhelmed. I did OK post-surgery, when I was just maintaining the retail shop, and taking care of myself, but when it came to planning for expansion, I didn't know where to begin Cheesy. The good news is that the property is "just about" ready for the final short plat review and we made our first sales to Whole Foods Markets in the Northwest region just this month - down to Oregon next week. Blood flowing to brain, sure does make a difference  Wink.
Life goes forward... Lots of fun times ahead  Smiley.
See you in Hawaii, Linda and Jack I'm ready to play in the surf.
Love to all my Moyamoya family,
Kim

Thank you. Congratulations and best wishes to your daughters as well. Feels good to hit that anniversary. Somehow it helps the place the whole experience further from the foreground more into the background of living.
Merry Christmas,
Kim

Thanks for the good wishes, Michelle. It sure does feel good. Now, I can stop worrying about myself and get to doing what I can for others. That's what makes me happy. OK, my psychologist says I have to find a little time for me somewhere in these busy days  Roll Eyes. I'm so grateful to be able to make plans and bring my dreams into reality again. I hope that you too are healthy and lovin' your life.
Hugs,
Kim
