Destin has a strange popping sound ...
Dec 31st, 2008 at 12:05pm

OK...I know this may sound strange and I wasn't sure what to believe until I heard it myself.  Destin is complaining about a popping noise in her head where her surgery was done.  It only happens when she walks.  She asked me to put my ear against her head and walk (not easy but we did it) to see if I could hear it.  I did it to humor her thinking there was no way I would hear something inside her head...well guess what...either we are both crazy or I heard it too!  Anyone else experience this?

I have not hurd a poping sound but I was very sencitive to my heart beat. I would hear my heart beat in my head but as time has gone by it has become less and less. I would ask your surgen or nurologest about it too. I hope this helps.

Is that only when you are wearing heals on a tile floor   Smiley  or is it about where your incision was?   Sorry ...bad joke but geesh I've never heard of such a thing.  Have you asked your surgeon about it?  I don't think it's anything serious but it sure is weird.

Hi Donna

This does sound strange. Obviously I can't offer any advice except maybe a couple of ways to magnify the sound for others to hear.

1. A doctors stethasope
2. The Prof listened to Luca's bypass to hear if the blood was flowing using something called a dopler machine. Basically a very sensitive microphone attached to an amplifier and a speaker. He would just touch the microphone against Luca's temple. I'm sure it would pick up a popping sound for everyone to hear.

Good luck, I hope Destin is feeling alright

I dont think your crazy at all.  I had something similar after my surgeries.  Although mine only happened when I would tap my head in certain places near the incisions.  It was loud enough that anyone that was at least 2-3 feet from me could hear it.  It has since stopped...or maybe I just dont tap my head anymore.  I asked my doc about it...it was just shrugged off as "something muscular".  Which whatever...i know that wasnt it...but if he didnt seem alarmed...then I wasnt going to be.

Take care...hopefully it will go away.

Under His authority,

Fred
