My daughter had her bypass surgeries last november. She had strokes during that time. She hasn't had any strokes after the second surgery though. Problem is, she is getting dental work done and the dentist will only fill one tooth at a time because of the risk of strokes and she has to sign a paper showing that risk. She saw an oral surgeon today to have her bottom wisdom teeth out and he too is very worried about the high risk and wants to do this in a hospital. After seeing this Dr today, I am scared to death about this procedure. Amy still has not recovered and may never from all the strokes she has had and the thought of another, i just can't bear to think of. Has anyone after thier surgeries had a dentist tell them this? I would appreciate any input. I do know the surgeon said that the injections constrict the blood vessels to minimize bleeding and he doesnt want her to be put to sleep because of anesthesia disrupts normal cardiovascular flow. Geez, does everything have to be so darned difficult. I do appreciate the concerns of the drs. but it is still scarey.

I had surgeries on 2006, and visit dentist many time after, my dentist has to use different type of numb medication because some type can restricted on blood flow. My jaws got tired quickly too. But over all I'm fine with it. You may check with her neurologist for a peace of mind.
