Surgery at Texas Children's

My 8 year daughter had two strokes mid April and has been diagnosed with MM. She has recovered very well from the strokes. Her first surgery is scheduled for May 21 at Texas Childrens with Dr Dauser. Anyone have experience with him? We are not from TX, so they say we will need to stay about 2 weeks after surgery. We will have a 15 hour drive home to KS that we will split into two days. Anyone drive after surgery? How long should I expect until she feels more like herself. Thanks!

Welcome to moyamoya.com. I'm sorry to hear your little girl has been diagnosed with moyamoya.

I have no input for you regarding the hospital or the surgeon, but I would imagine driving 2 weeks after surgery shouldn't be a problem. I would think your surgeon/doctors will advice you best after surgery when they feel you can travel.
