has anyone exprienced having a hot face??
Jun 26th, 2009 at 9:49am

The last couple days my face has been extremely hot! I have been relaxing and in air conditioner so I no i has nothing to do with the heat.  You would think my temp was 105.  But I have no fever.  Im worried something internally is going on.  Because I also have this wierd pressure or fullness and rushing sound in my right ear.  I asked the doctors when I went in for my presurgery testing and they didnt know what to think. Sad

masonsmom,
If I am reading this right you have not had the surgery. In that case i don't know what is going on. Alot of us hear the rushing, whooshing, pluseing sound in the ear/head after surgery, from the new vessels we are not accustom to hearing. After surgery I felt hot all the time like if I had a fever but that was caused by my body healing. It takes a lot of energy to heal after any surgery and since this surgery is invasive it requires a large amount of healing heat.
I hope you find your answers,
Becky

Hi Masonsmom,

I don't recall anyone on the board mentioning having a hot face. However, it could be a number of things. I'm not a doctor but it could be blood pressure or possibly stress. I don't really know.

My brother had a whooshing sound in his ear prior to his surgery and his doctor said it was the blood trying to flow pass the blockage.

Keep us posted.

I've had a hot face, heck my whole body heats up like a furnace. It's amazing I don't spontaneously combust! For me though, at 55,  I'm pretty sure I can attribute it to menopause. Since I was a kid, I've gotten a very, very red and hot face when exercising. And I have tiny broken capillaries on my face. I don't think this is related to Moyamoya, as most people don't seem to have this.

The whoosing, rushing sound some of us hear in our ears, is called bruit. It's caused by a disturbance in the blood flowing over a rough spot in the arteries, most likely where it is closing off.

It's frustrating when your doctor shrugs his shoulders and says he doesn't know if a symptom is related to Moyamoya or not. But even the experts don't know all that is associated with this disease. Watching the video tapes of the Moyamoya Symposium really brings that point home. That's why it's so very important that we support their research in any way we can.

Hi~

I agree with what's been said.
This an just an aside.

I tend to get red in the face when concentrating. People used to think I'd been drinking...No, just studying. Never need to wear 'blush' make up either.

Wonder if  this is an aspect of mm?
Blood flow etc?

Now that I'm thinking about it, Luca does also get a very red, flushed face sometimes. I've always attributed it to teething, but I guess it could be moyamoya related. The only time we'll know for sure is when all her teeth are out.
