Bruising

Hi all,
My niece who is only 6 years old has moyamoya. She still has not had the surgeries and we still do not know when she will have them. But we are hoping soon.
She is on aspirin and tegretol because she has another condition known as neurofibromatosis 1.
She had some unusual purple bruising appearing from the top of her inner thigh and ending near her foot and some blood in her urine. She was rushed to the ER and they did blood tests and urine test.  THANK GOD she did not have internal bleeding but the doctors think it might be due to the aspirin.
Has anyone come across similar situation?
Help Please!!!

If I sleep with my hand resting on top of my other arm I will wake up with a bruise!  It is from the aspirin.  You were right to get it checked, and the bruise does sound a little different.  It took me a couple months to figure out where the bruises on my arm were coming from...my other arm...LOL

Hi Entesar S.

I hope they've ruled out reye's syndrome. I think the symptoms are all wrong for reye's, but considering she's on aspirin I'm sure they would have checked.

My little girl is also on aspirin and tegratol.

Look after your niece and keep us updated.

THANK GOD it is not reye's syndrome. They were not sure what it was, the bruises have faded away now.
