I know there's a similar thread but I wnated to get a little more info on this in particular.Kathleen is 12 and just got her first period today. I was jsut wondering if anyone had anything to add as far as what they experienced. This will be a challenge because shs'e not yet independant and will be starting school in a few weeks. She seems extremely tired and pale today. She also has Down syndrome and doesn't quite have the cognitive understanding of a typical 12 yr old.Any and all expreiences would be welcome. It ocncerns me since she's on asprin.Should we test her iron?

Emily is 14 but was 13 for her surgeries and had already "started" way before she had her surgeries.  She doens't always communicate with me very well if something is bothering her.  I just made an appointment to take her to the doctor this coming week.  She just doesn't seem as active as she used to be but she doesn't say she's tired???  I don't know either.  Sad

Hi,

Annamarie started when she was 11, she also has Down Syndrome.  She had her first surgery when she was 15, she is now 17.  She does have heavier cycles since being on asperine.  She also doesn't communate much about how she is feeling.  She has been having some issues lately and its hard to know just wha is going on  Sorry, I'm rambling.  Good luck with Emily.
