Happy Anniversary.
Sep 20th, 2009 at 10:35pm

This is the five year anniversary of my first cranial bypass and I wanted to return to the site to express my appreciation.

I took years off to deal with all of my health issues in particular and my life in general. I've had two cranial bypasses care of Dr. Nicole Moayeri at Kaiser in Redwood City, California. They were both extremely successful. I have been asymptomatic of TIA's since then. Fatigue and headaches are still present but I make due.

After teaching high school for three years I am now in my 2nd year of a PhD program and am working hard to finish within the given 6 years.  I wanted to return to the site to thank all of the people including DJ, Linda and Jack, Hillary, those I met at the first Stanford gathering for supporting me pre and post-surgery. Thank you so very much.

I was reacquainted with someone who coincidentally lost a friend in April from a MoyaMoya related stroke. Reminded of my mortality, I wanted to give all some continued support and send my love to all of us who suffer from this strange disease. It gets rough but we keep on going with all those that support us. I am grateful and I have perspective.

Thank you again to all who helped me to get to a 5 year anniversary. I am indebted.

Love Always,
Connie

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your 5 year anniversary.  I'll be coming up on my 1 year anniversary on the 2nd of Oct. for my first surgery.  Life (as i know it) is getting in the way of any kind of excited feeling about it.  I just know that (like you) i dont know where i would be right now had it not been for God leading me to this site.  My perspective has changed in a lot of ways...for the good.  My faith has never been stronger...simply put...I'm on fire for God.  I can't wait for opportunities to witness to the lost.  Take care and God bless!!!

...He died for us, the least we can do is live for Him...

Under His authority,

Fred
