update on my daughter
Sep 25th, 2009 at 8:04pm

Amy had surgeries last november and with that she had some strokes. She spent over 6 weeks at Stanford. She is living in a nursing home/rehab facility now but showing improvements. She just had her followup testing and with wednesdays angio, we were told her grafts are wide open. The Dr said it shows alot of diseased vessels but that she will always have to live with. Said she will always be on an anticoagulant. We are pleased with the results and thank God everyday for the little things in life. This disease has sure been an eye opener for us. We feel blessed!  Christie

Dear Christie,
Thank you for sharing your wonderful news.
It is very encouraging to hear your daughter surgeries helped her feel better and she is doing even better in the rehab.
She will be in my prayer.

Christie, Thank you for the update.I'm glad to hear that your daughter is makeing progress, and her tests showed some good news. My daughter also suffered a severe stroke after her first surgery. It's been 7 yrs and she's now 12 yrs old. It's been a slow but steady road but we're most thankful for the fact that she's had no more strokes.I hope to hear more good news as her progress continues. Many prayers.....

Hi Christie,

It is good to hear from you.

Glad to know Amy is improving and her bypasses are good. My brother also had to have rehab. It takes time but it is worth it. He regained his ability to speak and most of his abstract thinking ability has returned.

Stay strong and keep the faith.

Thanks for the update and keep us posted on Amy's progress when you can.
