I and my doctors - both GP and Neurologist are thinking that my high BP and Cholesterol have nothing to do with each other. The more research I do on MM and the more I read the websites posts, I more I am unsure of this.

What does everyone else think?

Do you think that MM and your cholesterol and BP run hand and hand? Why is that? What are you taking to control either one? Do your doctors think they are related?

I was diagnosed 3/2008. surgery 4/2008 and was not diagnosed with high BP or cholesterol until like 3 months ago....

I personally had LOW BP most of my life...the first time a nurse told me it was HIGH I about fell off my chair!  I did have alot of drama in my life at that time and sort of blew it off (teenagers..LOL).  The second time I was told it was high, I was at my neuro appt. and I did not get along with my neuro so I just blamed it on that...you can see the denial starting cant you??  LOL  When MY family practice Dr. told me I had high BP...I finally believed him and started on meds.  I have never had high cholesterol, despite my neuro telling me that I need to get my cholesterol and BP under control!!!I do get my cholesterol checked every year to keep track of it, and I now monitor my own BP prior to taking any medication.  Most days I just dont need the medication, but at times of stress I find that I do need it.  Lately my BP has been back to running low, and taking the meds when I don't need them is really scary! (It almost makes me pass out).  I should note I have not had surgery, and everyone's  experience with MM is individual!! But, I do not believe high cholesterol has anything to do with MM.  I really dont think BP does either although I know higher is better than lower for me personally.  Hope this helps somehow!!!

Paula has MM, aorta coartaction and stenosis in the renal and celiac artery, so, It's definetively related ...
