Happy Birthday Luca

It was Luca's 2nd birthday on Saturday. She had a great time with all her cousins and the family spoilt her rotten.

It's hard to believe this time last year she was in hospital having had her second stroke and we were preparing to go to the UK for her surgery.

It was also a year ago that I signed up with moyamoya.com and met all you amazing people.

1st stroke in September 2008, age 10 months
Bi-lateral mm diagnosis
2nd stroke in November 2008, age 1 year old
Left side surgery in December 2008
13 years on now
Doing just great!

In my imagination, I'm watching Little Luca blow out both of the candles on her birthday cake....surrounded by family and friend.
What a huge milestone that candle represents!
All of your families love, care and real struggles.
Jack and I send enormous amounts of love and joy to you all. I'm in tears of celebration.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCA!

Congratulations on reaching your first year milestone.

Luca has made big strides this past year and done extremely well for all she has endured at such a young age. The MM children never cease to amaze me with their resillence.

Luca is so precious and is fortunate to have such a loving, caring and supporting family and I have no doubt she will continue to inspire us all.

Hi Mark,

I'm afraid I'm late too (after the MRA of Paula, we were 5 days at Hospital because she had the swine flue ....), but please give Little Luca a big kiss.

Little Luca is very lucky for having a father as you (and of course, you are even more lucky to have such a beatiful baby!!!). You are an example to all of us.
