It depends...where in Illinois and for what purpose?  My DH had one in Warrenville who was the one who diagnosed him with MM, but the hospital was not equiped to deal with it.  The neurologist is excellent, however.

Once we got to Northwestern in Chicago, we were not fully satisfied.  We ended up going to CA to see Dr. Steinberg for second surgery.

Let me know if you need one just for followups.

Sorry it took so long to reply...been a busy week.

My husband had several strokes last year (that had been misdiagnosed as MS) in November, so he was in Northwestern this time last year.  The doctor that diagnosed the MM (not the MS) is Dr. Henry Echiverri from Central DuPage.  We already knew him from seeing him at several functions we attended to learn about MS, so when he was assigned to us after my husband's stroke (in CDH) , we were happy to see a familiar and trusted face.  He made all the right calls in terms of the MM, immediately putting my husband in ICU and finding a hospital that could provide him with the level of care he needed.  Although we did get excellent care at Northwestern, the followup was horrible.  The two doctors (stroke and surgeon) did not want to do the second side.  We went to Dr. Steinberg for that.  That is why we don't go to Northwestern now.  Dr. Echiverri is all we would need in the event something came up.

By the way, we live in Addison.
