I am Robin, a single mom of 2 boys/men,lol, I was alsorecently diagnosed with MMS, after my 3rd stroke, while doing routine tests when I was in ICU, the discovered I have had at least 2 heart attacks and will need a quadruple bypass, my cardiologist and neurologist cannot seem to decide which is more urgent, or maybye do both at the same time. As each day goes by I become more anxios, scared and deppresed. Does any one have any answers for me, or know of someone who is or has gone through the same circumstances as I Cry

Hi Robin and welcome to the MM family.

You must feel overwhelmed with a diagnosis of two chronic conditions. Emotional reaction to illness such as fear, depression and anxiety is normal.

Both conditions are treatable and there are other MMers who have multiple chronic conditions who have been successfully treated. I'm sure they will share their stories with you once they see your post.

My suggestion would be to take an active role in managing your health and educate yourself about both conditions, collobrate with your doctors and seek second opinions from specialist in both cardiology and MoyaMoya.

We are here to support you so please ask any questions.

Hi Robin and welcome to the mm family. I also have mm that was diagnosed in 2002. I had bypass surgery in 2003. In 2004 I had a cardiac arrest and had to have a defibrillator put in. One year later I had a heart attack. I have been lucky to have a doctors that are aware of my mm and heart disease. Before I had bypass surgery I had to have alot of tests on my heart before they would it. Your heart problems are alot more severe than mine. As Lore says get a second opinion.

Hello...
So sorry to hear about your conditions. My mother-in-law had the same problem, however, she didn't know about her heart problem. She had her surgery for mm, and in the middle of her surgery had a heart attack. I would strongly advise making sure you know everything you can before you go in, and like everyone else has said...get a second opinion! Hope all is well, and hope to chat soon...ttyl
