My daughter with MM is only 2 but I have taken her to an amusment park twice. I was more worried about the sun and heat than anything. She did great. She road the feriswheel, merrygo round, train, and played in the water park. Not sure if the one you have in mind has a water park but that was her favorite part. Plus they have all the games and some even have animals there you can feed. I am no expert but I think you should try it. There have been a ton of activities and places I thought we should never do or take her to. I have been pleasently surprised that by the end of the day I think we should have done this sooner. She was very tired when we left and slept in the car on the way home. We stayed there for about 3 hours. I hope this helps. Am I reading this right that 3 of your children have MM?

Hello Ladies

There is a thread that touched on this awhile back. Check it out:

http://www.moyamoya.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1257213198/15#15

Unfortunately there does seem to be the need to set some limitations on our thrill seeking young moyamoya'ers. As with everything else, check with your professionals.

Take care

Hello Sandy! I haven't seen you on here for a while. How are your children doing? I agree that like most questions the answers may be different for each MM patient. One thing I will add is that from what I've ehard spinning can be a trigger for seizures. Although Kathleen hasn't had seizures that we know of I'm careful about the spinning rides. She's been on the teacups but they are a ride you can control the amount of spinning. I never put her on roller coasters but that's because she has very poor muscle tone in her neck and a very slight AAI (common in children with Down syndrome) all because of the strokes and Down syndrome. The "jerking" motion of some rides could cause a neck or head injury for her. Would love to hear how everyone's doing! Most likely there's a lot of rides the kids can go on and of course if there's a water park within it that even better. Let us know how you make out.....

OMG, is this Sandy from way back when? SmileyI didn’t have anything to contribute to your amusement park question, but as I was reading your thread and it said Li’l Sandy--it suddenly hit me, so I just had to ask to be sure if this was Sandy with Savannah, Jake and the twins? I didn’t catch on that it might be you at first, cuz it says you only have a few posts, and I know you go way back girlfriend. OMG, I can’t believe it! I think about you and the kids often, and Franny always asks me if I ever hear from you. It’s been a long time since we’ve all talked, but I certainly still keep you and the kids in my prayers. How are the kids really doing??? Is Savannah still stable, moyamoya speaking?? And Jake, is he calming down for ya as he’s getting older?? I see Li’l Sandy has had her share recently, God love her. How you holding up?? You’re still the strongest, bravest mommy I ever saw in my life, and I’m so glad to see you back!! I could go on & on…I just wanted to drop in and send all my love and best wishes to you and the kids. Hope and pray all is well, for the most part, you know what I mean, as well as it can be. I bet the kids have grown.

Big hug, Smiley and bunches more for the kids,
Mar

Hello, Sandy it sounds like you have been on a real roller coaster. Your picture is beautiful. So glad that the Docs finely figured everything out about her sinuses and ears. How interesting.

and, Mark thanks for the thread I haven't been on the site for a few months and a little behind. It was very helpful.

I truly would have never thought I could take my daughter to an amusement park. Lots of water to drink and I found shade whenever possible. That trip helped me loosen up a bit for the first time since she was born. We made sure we didn't choose any rides that went to fast or had lots of spinning. Dani
