Hysterectomy needed
Feb 1st, 2011 at 4:57pm

My daughter had both her bypass surgeries Nov. 2008. She is doing well but needs a hysterectomy and has an appt next week to see if the Neurologist will give her clearance. Has anyone been approved or denied for this type of surgery?

I have not had that kind of surgery, but I did have to have my wisdom teeth extracted from my gums a year and a half after my surgery. i did review the surgery with my nurologest and it was approved my him. It is a very wise idea to review that kind of surgery with your MM expert.
Hope that helps,
Becky

reason why for the hysterectomy i had severe severe bleeding for several years were i would bleed for months at a time stop for a week and then start all over again towards the end my hemoglobin dropped to a 6.1 so i was losing a lot of blood and couldnt function on a daily basis always had to be close to a bathroom always have a change of clothes on me my mom and my sister also had this same issue my sister had an ablation and it worked for her i also had a ablation it didnt work i havent regretted it for a moment and Dr Steinberg has had no issues with any of my doctor request weather it be having a tooth pulled or the hysterectomy

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy last summer due to severe endomitriosis.  I had tried an endomitrial ablation about a year prior but it was not successful for me.  Dr. Steinberg approved the surgery.  He consulted with my gyn let him know how many days pre-op to stop aspirin therapy and concerns with anesthesia about not letting b/p get too low.  The surgery was fine.  Unfortunately the recovery was really tough on my body and kicked off a lot of neurological symptoms that had been better controlled for a little while (vertigo, headaches, seizures, etc.) I am sure this is different for everyone though.

I had a total hysterectomy 3 months ago. I did well through the surgery and post op. I had unilateral surgery almost 3 years ago. I do believe everyone is different. I really didn't have a choice as to whether or not to have the surgery.

Amys surgery went very smooth. I am so pleased with the care we received in Sterling IL. Dr Lemay was a bit nervous and the Anesthesiologist spoke with Stanford before the surgery. Amy had to stay on aspirin and bled alittle extra but she is recuperating very nicely........

Hi everyone- I read all the concerns about having a hysterectomy. I too, need to have one, but I had to talk to Dr. Dodd my neurosurgeon. He said that it really depends if you can have it, bleeding can cause more problems to the brain and even going under, which can cause problems. My gynecologist told me, that she doesn't want to do it, because she knew that there can be complications because of the bleeding, and she knew that I can become anemic and that's what they don't want me to become. The bleeding has to be minimal or don't do it unless you can be sure there's no heavy bleeding. So, we decided not to have it since you can not guarantee that. Better be safe than sorry. My doctors showed concerns and you don't see that all the time. All cases are different, keep questioning your doctors. Good luck..
