Tomorrow
Apr 11th, 2011 at 10:26am

We are leaving in the morning for Stanford.  I am now unable to push the nerves aside.  It is all coming back to me and I feel almost like I did in January when I got the phone call telling me that Daniel has moyamoya.  Fighting with doctors and insurance companies succeeded in taking my mind off the worry of the actual trip and surgeries.  I've been terrified of a stroke but have barely thought about surgery.

Ugh.  I need to get my head on so I can help him.

Gosh I know how your feeling. Even now 9yrs later I can remember how scary it was when it actually got that close. I will keep your family in my prayers for a successful surgery and uncomplicated quick recovery. Please keep us posted if you have the time. You will do fine... when the time comes you will be there and be strong for your son.

Lynn, what day will you be at Stanford?  What day is his surgery?  Would love to try and meet you one day.

Lynn,
I know you're scared but you both will be fine.  You'll be so busy and the staff is wonderful I hear.  Let us know how things are going and just come on and vent if you need to.

Hillary--Daniel begins testing on Thursday and his first surgery is the 21st.

I just tucked my three youngest kids into bed and we all had a long cry about how we will be missing each other.  I have made them each a little something--my 10-year-old daughter a shawl so she can wrap it around her and imagine I am hugging her, a pillow with a pocket in and a mouth in the pocket for my 7-year-old son so he can have a kiss when he needs it, and two little stuffed animals for my 4-year-old daughter so she can have some snuggle buddies since I won't be here for snuggles.

It's been a long road and I feel exhausted already.

Lynn, I know it's tough, I would love to be there for support on the 21st if you would like it.  I only live a couple of hours away.

That is so nice of you Hillary!  My husband is flying in the day before so I won't have to be alone.  It's going to be a long day.

Tomorrow begins it all--we have our first day of tests.
