Hi everyone.  I am relatively new to this site and have been reading a lot of posts over the last few days.  I have noticed that several people have mentioned that they have both MMD and renal artery stenosis ("RAS").  My son was first diagnoses with RAS after having severe high blood pressure and a couple of silent strokes.  A few months, and a more significant stroke, later he was diagnosed with MMD (he had surgery with Dr. Scott in November). There was also talk of fibromuscular dysplasia ("FMD") but that has fallen by the wayside.  I was just curious what some of you have done about the RAS.  We were previously talking with Dr. Stanley in MI, and will like go back to him, but I am interested to see how long we can treat his BP with medicine prior to surgery.  His right kidney is slightly smaller than the left, but has not gotten smaller in the past 6 months.
