Subclavian Steal Syndrome
Aug 8th, 2011 at 4:49pm

I'm new to this site, I'm 31 years old and lived with MoyaMoya for 25 years, I was diagnosed back in 1986 and had my surgeries performed by Dr. Hirohisa Ono at OHSU Doernbecher in Portland OR. I have had no problems since the two EDAS surgeries that were performed in '87 until two weeks ago when it was found that I have developed stenosis in my left subclavian artery, and if I become to active I suffer from subclavian steal syndrome to the point that I lose my vision. The Cardiovascular surgeons and my PCP are unwilling to perform any type of corrective surgery until my arm either turns blue or I fully lose my pulse. They have put me on limited activity.  I can find nothing tying MoyaMoya to the Subclavia. Anybody heard of anything like this or know of any resource I can go to?
