Rena and Mar

Thank you both very much for your help today, I really appreciate it.  Jolie from Stanford called while I was talking to you both so I had to leave real quick.  Anyway, she is getting ahold of the oncall Neurosurgeon to see what he says.  The concern was because it was much worse then all the others except for one that happened in feb.  She has only had to TIA's since surgery, the first was very mild.

For everyone else that doesn't know whats going on....Holly called my mom from school today and said she was tingling in her fingers, hand, and up to the elbow, then around her shoulder (all on the right side-the better side) then all around her mouth and up the side of her nose, her right fingers were curling on their own, she was very pale, and is now tired from all of that.  Needless to say, I got to school very quickly and picked her up, she is now home with my mom waiting on the doctors to call.  It gave me a scare, because her hand has never curled before, and this is only the second time around her mouth, and second time on her right side.

Anyone else have info on this?

Hillary

Hillary,

I also had several small TIA's up to several months after each of my surgeries.  Still have the occasional one or two...  nothing too serious and nothing permanent, but I definately keep track of them!

Hope Holly is doing better........

I am glad I was able to help. I know just how scary it can be, watching your child go through this and feeling helpless.

Your whole family is in my prayers.

Hi Hillary -

Sounds like Holly and I had similar experiences.  My hand never curled, but I had the same TIAs in the same places as her.  Yes, it was scarry - especially due to the fact that I couldn't speak at the time - aphasia again.  This was pre-surgery though.  I actually keep a journal of my TIAs...kind of strange, but it helps to notice patterns if there are any.  I write down the time it happened, what I was doing, and how long the TIA lasted.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and Holly.

I hope Holly has recovered from her TIA by now and is doing better.  This is a scary thing we are all dealing with.  All we can do is put it in God's capable hands.  You had mentioned possibly doing lunch on the 28th.  My second surgery isnt until the 29th so everything should be good.  I will look for you in the cafateria around 1:30.  Let me know if anything changes.  I'll be the bald guy with the big scare on his head.
