SPECT SCAN
Aug 23rd, 2004 at 9:03am

I had a SPECT Scan done thursday and I am wondering if others had the same reaction I did?   I felt as though every drop of energy was drained from my body.  I had pins and needle feeling over my whole head.  The pins and needle feeling went away after a day but it has been almost 4 days since the test and I haven't regained all my energy back.
Has anyone else felt this way after the test?

ps the results showed that I have very good collateral and I don't need surgery yet! ;Grin
Thanks everyone!
Beth

Beth-

After my SPECT scans i felt worn out and tired that day but by the next day i was back to normal. Ive heard of many people who dislike the SPECT scan for different reasons so im it has had the same effect on some others. Me personally did not mind it too bad cause i felt fine the next day.

Annica-

My experience with the SPECT they had me lay in a room for about an hour just relaxing and they injected stuff called Diamox. After the hour they did a CT scan and then i was done. The test is suppose to show the amount of oxgen you are getting in the brain. Hope this helps best way i could think to descibe it.

Hiya Beth,

Yep, many of us have had weird experiences with the SPECT.   We had a couple of posts about this in the past so you can do a search on "SPECT" and see all the complaints! Smiley   I'd post them here for you but I'm too pooped to pop right now.
