Hello Lilian!

Welcome to the board.  I'm so happy that you found this support group!

I read your story on the "Guest Book" and, if you don't mind, I would like to ask you about your surgeries.  Specifically, why did you have 4 bypass surgeries on your left side and then 5 bypass surgeries on your right.  That's a lot of surgeries for this!  Shocked  Quite uncommon!  What type of surgeries were they?

I look forward to hearing more of your story.  Again welcome!

Lisa

I had to have so many  bypasses because I was actually in really bad shape.
In the right side of my  brain there were almost none veins left.It was a tiny bit and that was it. Also the rights side of my brain is smaller than it should be, it's almost twice smaller as my left side.
So they had to make so many bypasses. They were also verry affrais that my left side was giing top be so bad to , so they made 4 bypasses there, just to be sure.
My left side of my brain was already taking over 'tasks" of the right side, beacause my right side couldn't handle it that there ws so little blood running trough the veins.

It were bypass surgeries and were done in the childrens hospital by dr scott.
He did it all at once, and it took 8 hours.
At first they tought  that they couldn't do both sides at once, but it went so well, that they could do it and did do it.
You can imangine the pain I had when I woke up.
I had a terrible headache, and I couldn't do anything myself.
After about 4 or 5 days I could get out of bed and walk through the hallways, but I felty so sick.
Even in bed I didn't get enough rest ,I couldn't sleep of all the pain. Even tylanol and aspirin didn't help a lot.
Luckily I got to go home after 2 weeks. I still had a headache with lasted for about 3 weeks more, but I was glad it was over.
Everybody said I had a clearer look in my eyes right after surgery was done.
I'm verry happy I had it done, or else I wouldn't be here right now.
