Question
Nov 6th, 2004 at 6:30pm

I am curious to find out about how long did it take to get in to  see Dr. Steinberg after he agreed to view anyones films?  I am still wrestling with the insurance company but I am hopeful that once that is settled I will see him rather quickly.  One other question, once he has viewed the films how long before a surgery is scheduled?  My husband wants to go down to Florida to help with the hurricane clean-up but he does not want to leave if I will be going to California soon.
Thanks for any help. Kathleen

Dear Kathleen,

Welcome to our MM family - I am very glad you found us!  My daughter is a Dr. Steinberg patient, so I can speak from experience to answer your question.  We saw him 3 days after my daughter's MRA (and the MRA and diagnosis were done by another doctor).  Her first surgery was 13 days after our appointment with Dr. S.

My guess is that things will happen pretty quickly, depending on your ability to get here.  As you've probably seen, you don't want to wait long with MM, as it is definitely a progressive disease.  Dr. Steinberg and Stanford are just the best, and I hope the struggle with your insurance company is resolved quickly.

We live in San Jose - about 25 miles from Stanford, and would be happy to talk and answer any questions you might have about anything.  Please keep us posted, o.k.?

Warmly, and with  Smiley  from California!

Jill

Kathleen,

I think I went to Stanford for surgery about 3 weeks after Dr. Steinberg saw my films and said he'd see me.  The whole process happend pretty quickly.

I hope the insurance problems don't get in the way!

Hope this helps,
DJ
