Going home
Feb 1st, 2005 at 11:55am

Hi all,
Well, Dr. Steinberg finally gave Mark the all clear to go home.  We've been at Stanford since New Years Eve.  There have been so many highs and lows in this trip I can't begin to tell you.  We have been fortunate to talk with and meet many many super people here.  Drs. and the Nursing staff are the best.  I tried to keep track of all the people that helped Mark.  It was around 100.  And everyone of them showed great enthusiasm to get him feeling better.
Everyone on this site is a great inspiration as well and we couldn't have got this far without everyone sharing your experience.  Unfortunatly you are all pioneers in a difficult time in your lives.  I hope and pray that the near future finds something to fix this disease.  You have all paved the way for hope.
Finally I have to give DJ and the MacInnes family a special thanks.  DJ was in touch with us through our stay here.  I was able to call him with questions regularly.  And Jill, Tara and Campbell have been fantastic.  They have taken time out of their lives to be with us to help us get through this whole very scary ordeal.  We will never forget what all of you have done for us.
We do have to make a trip back at the end of April for Marks follow-up.  Dr. Steinberg said to plan a week for testing.  Mark has to re-do all the pre-op test he took from the angio to the EEGand many more.
Any way if there are any questions we might be able to answer re; anything please ask.  I have started the journal I mentioned and will attach a digital attachment as well.  Thanks again to all of you and back to snowy cold Syracuse.
                            All our best,
Ron , Lisa and Mark Rowland

That is great news!  We've been thinking about Mark and had him in our prayers since we met you at Stanford.  For him to be going home he must have had a nice improvement.  Will he be going back to school?  Can he continue as he was?
Best wishes for Mark and your family in the new year!  Keep me updated on how everything progresses!  My parents will be making the trip back out there sometime in April as well, we'll keep in touch!
They returned on Sunday the 30th, my mom is doing pretty good and so happy to be home (as you will be, I'm sure!), we'll be thinking about you!
