Well Breanna's first angiogram after surgery is scheduled for August 4th.  (6 months post op) Im quite nervous about the whole thing.  Also, her pharyngeal flap surgery for the cleft is scheduled for the 8th of August.  Im starting to get nervous and anxious about these upcoming events.  She is suppose to start kindergarten the 18th of August, but it doesn't look like she will be starting for a while.  The recovery for the surgery is 6 weeks.  However, Breanna does not act scared or anything about visiting the hospital.  She just remembers her last stay drawing on the windows, playing in the toy room, receiving gifts, and of course mommy sleeping next to her and spoiling her rotten.   ::)  Please keep my angel Breanna in your thoughts and prayers.....  I'll update you more when I know more...  Thank you!!

Of course we will keep sweet Breanna in our thoughts and prayers.  She has proven what a trooper she is and I know she will come through the angio and surgery with flying colors!  Hang in there, Mom!

Lots of hugs~

Hi there,

Don't worry Breanna will be fine. We will keep her in our prayers and what a lovely, brave daughter you have.
Give her a big HUG from me, another friend she has miles away.

Hugs & Kisses,
itsme

Breanna is such an inspiration at her young age!  As a great and kind person once told me..."The doctors can heal us physically but WE CAN ONLY HEAL OURSELVES mentally...." and it sounds like Breanna has no problem with that...  Cheesy  She remembers the "Drawing on the windows, playing in the toy room...." which is wonderful!!

Our thoughts are prayers are with you, Breanna and your family.

Take care,
SFH

Will keep Breanna in my prayers... ;Grin ;Grin.

Cara finished Kindergarten two years ago...but in the middle of Kindergarten (March 04) she started to go down hill,   difficulty reading after it seemed easy but becoming difficult, speech becoming difficult for some of her best friends...that we decided to get second/third opinion as soon as school ended (May 04)...the Mayo in June 04 did the spect test and MRI...and confirmed the diagnosis of MM...so surgery #1 (July 04) was done but she had a stroke in recovery...changed her to a two to three year old.   I was treading my feet about her going to first grade !!!! the fall of Aug 04.   Called a friend who was a teacher at the school (my three teen boys went there so knew people)...and explain Cara's case. Plus we had NO IDEA how to plan for the help she'd need.  Should we put her in special ed for the two weeks before her second surgery.  Her K-teacher recommend she go to 1st grade (before she saw Cara) because of her friends.  Her EDK teacher (extended day) recommend she repeat Kingergarten because she wasn't special ed but still behind...we also had no idea what surgery #2 would do to her either.

Flash forward.   She started school (starts early in Arizona) in Kindergarten for two weeks...very quiet but so were other kindergarteners...so worked out great.  She left for Minnesota for the surgery...we were gone a week...turned out it was a much better experience...she came back so much but still behind...but right before we were to return to Kindergarten in Oct...she was experiencing way too many TIA's...scary but we hung in there....was home schooled by two wonderful women (one a special ed teacher) another a regular teacher....each say she isn't special end nor is a regular...somewhere in between...and not enough known about MoyaMoya to predict what kind of help.   Even had the hearing impaired teacher involved because they found hearing loss....and we didn't even think she did because I am totally deaf....her hearing (reminds me now to make another hearing test appt) has improved, eye sight is more equal...as time went on.

Flash forward again...she finished Kindergarten a leader too...oldest in class but is petite anyway...enjoyed it and is going to first grade in the fall (Aug 22nd).

So reading your post...I smile with what we went through last year.....and I know it always works out however hard, worrisome it was.

Lots of prayers that all go well for your princess.
Warm hugs,  CarasMOM

Awwwwww, Tina...  You and Breanna will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks!  Thoughts of drawing on the windows at the hospital brought a huge smile to my face too!

Breanna is a trooper and I'm sure she will do just fine.  YOU hang in there too and let us know how everything goes!

Smiley

Hi there, Tina!

So nice to see you on the board!  I've frequently thought of Breanna . . . wondering how the two of you were doing.  Yes, of course, we will keep you both in our prayers.  I'm sure she'll be fine, even though it's never easy going through the process!

Please keep us posted, okey dokey?

Big hugs to you guys,
Jill

Well Breanna had her angiogram on Thursday.  The doctors said her brain looks completely normal!  Thank God!!  She needs to go back for an MRI/MRA in 6 months.  Thank you for putting Breanna in your thoughts and prayers!
