Roll Eyes
Subject: The don't buy gas day has been decided.

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT
PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE
OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF
OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL
COMPANIES.

THEREFORE Sept 10TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM  DAY"
AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE
THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY
PEOPLE A S YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT
GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES
THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT
THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING
COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON
EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING
MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY,
WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD

;Grin   Taje care all of you  Tom G.

Sorry Tom, but there are a few things that make this impossible to do.

First this email will never reach "Everyone" in the United States, many people still don't have an email address. And a cab driver isn't going to not work because he can't buy gas, as well as bus drivers and such.

Second, the gas companies would just make the money extra the day before or make it up the next day, when people go get gas.

Personally, I don't buy gas daily anyways, so I doubt if there are many people that do buy it daily, unless they drive for their living.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I get tired of getting this same email every year.

I hear you Rena.

I feel gas is something we just can't get by without...in my opinion.  And like you mentioned, even if people did not actually purchase gas on this "STICK IT TO THEM  DAY", many would make it a point to go the day before, or even after which would make up for it anyway.  I don't think this type of tactic will be much of a success in getting the "administration" to take notice of the point trying to be made here.  I'm not disagreeing with your motive for wanting to participate or back this issue, Tom.  I just feel that there must be a better way of getting the message across.  Of course, this is my  Smiley.

I too wish that it didn't hurt my pockets so much each time I filled my car with gas, but I've resorted to the fact that it's just something that I need to deal with.  Prices have gone up and down, and unfortunately, along with others in this wonderful country that we live in, I'll have to ride this wave of high gas prices and be optimistic things will change for the better, hopefully soon.  However, I also keep in mind and understand that I need to be patient especially due to the impact that Hurricane Katrina may have.

If I may, one thing we can think of is how lucky we are to even have vehicles and the ability to get gas and travel freely as we go about our day-to-day activities, while many victims of Katrina are unable to go on with their normal daily routines...just something that humbles me... Smiley

Take care,
Shan
