I haven't talked with Alexis since last night.  Claire had a headache yesterday morning, but was feeling better later in the day.  I'll be seeing them sometime today, so will post something about how she's feeling a little later.

Just a quick note about Claire.  She's looking SO good!  As I mentioned on a previous post, you absolutely wouldn't know she'd had surgery . . .  until she told you her head hurt, poor thing.  She had the headache again today, which was being managed by a bit of fentanyl and vicodin.  Initially, she wasn't tolerating the vicodin very well, but was managing to keep it down this afternoon.  Claire was resting/sleeping for most of the time I was there, but managed to eat some soup and rice after being encouraged to do so by Stanley.

Those who have been through this know that headaches following surgery are not unusual.  In Claire's case, they will hopefully diminish quickly so she can return to her usual, sunny self.  It's no fun to see a child in pain, and particularly difficult when it's your own going through it.

Stanley took a good picture of Tara and Claire, so maybe DJ can get it up on the site soon.  I continue to be amazed at the minimal amount of hair Claire lost.  She's fortunate to have a ton of it (hair), so the incision will be completely covered very soon.

As of this afternoon, her discharge date was up in the air.  They were originally targeting tomorrow (Saturday), but we'll see how her pain goes.  They may delay another day, but I'll keep you posted as I learn what's going on.

Until then, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Smiley, Jill

Regarding the headaches, yes, I know first-hand how that goes.  In fact, I'm still getting them sporatically.  Undecided

Sounds like Claire is doing great and on track and on the road to recovery. AMEN! ;Grin
