Feeling Great
Jan 18th, 2006 at 8:07pm

well this is a fairly pointless topic but i just wanted to add in amongst all the not-feeling-too-good threads that i am feeling absolutely fantastic.

completley back to my normal streram of life (minus the backflips - which i'm going to debate with my surgeon, and flying - which i can deal without for a few more months)... i've had a couple of TIA's recently but nothing i'd worry about..... my only main concern has been dehydration, even drinking 3-4L a day can leave me light-headed but the only way to stay on top of that is to keep drinking water..

so yeah, i've still got a couple of operations left ("apparently" - god imagine how good i'll feel after them!)

i really hope the rest of you that are having problems get them sorted out asap and really use this new/extra blood supply that you've been given to the max.
honestly, i found that the more cautious i was with life, the worse i felt.. bit of a catch 22!

Hi Emily,

I have just been popping in and out here lately, but I'm glad I got to read this post!  I'm so glad to read that you're feeling fantastic!  ;Grin I'm sorry..that was "absolutely" fantastic!  Smiley  Yahoo!

I'm glad you were able to have your surgery. I remember you being a little nervous pre-op, but I'm glad to hear all is well, despite the TIA's.  What did your dr. say about them?  If you don't mind me asking, did they come in the form of numbness?  Smiley

I see you also mentioned additional surgeries.  Are these related to MM?  And yes, I know you've heard this a million tims...drink plenty of water...  ;Grin

Once again, Emily...good to hear you had a great day!  i pray for many many many more...for all of us!

Take care,  Smiley

Thanks shan, your support has always been fantastic, you're a lovely person!

my "tia's" were on the left side this time (i've had my Left STA-MCA), first time my whole body sort of "spun out" weakly and then i lost control & some feeling in my left hand for a while and then had real issues with my jaw, felt like it was clenched tight for about half an hour... then it went away..

next time was much less severe, same whole body weakness i always feel before a "stroke" of any magnitude, then lost control and use in my left hand for a bit, then went away fine...

further surgeries are the Right HS STA-MCA bypass - end of next month i think.... and then an operation on one of my vertebrobasilar arteries, i dunno if they do a bypass on this though or what....
has anyone had a bocked vertebrobasilar artery??
