Just want to say thank you
Jan 26th, 2006 at 7:13pm

Hi,

First I want to thank DJ for creating this informative web site for this rare disease, it helped us found so much info in a very short period of time. Then I'd like to thank Jill, Tara, and Tara's dad, Jim and Kathie, Michael and his mother for their support during my daughter's surgery done in Stanford last Friday. Also I'd like to thank David and Irene for giving us so much info befor the surgery.

Now let me introduce us. My name is Tingxin, my daughter, Li, was diagnosed with MM two years ago. However we never thought about the surgery until very recent MRI showed a little stroke area. We were recommended to do the surgery. We know the surgery is availiable, but didn't know, or didn't want to know the detail,  so we were very scared when first heard the recommendation, however we have to faced it now because more stroke may come without any symptom. So we searched and found this web site, people who have been there and done that and Dr. Steinberg.

All this gave us so much more confidence on the surgery, so we made our decision to do it.

Friday's Surgery went well as many of you already know. We came home this Tuesday. Li is doing well alos except feeling a little nauseous.

Thanks you all again for you support. Without you,  I don't how much more we would get scared during this gurney. I heard Jim and Kathie also fly back to home today. Hope you two had a safe trip too!

God Bless you all!!

Hi Tingxin,

So grateful to hear the good news about your daughter.  Yes, DJ, through this website alone has saved so many lives!  I've said this a million times...he is truly a blessing.

Please let Li know that we are thinking of her and wish her the best during her recovery.  Please keep us posted on how she's doing.

Take care,
Shan

Hi Tingxin!

So good to see you on the site, and I'm glad to hear you arrived home safely.

There are definitely no thanks necessary, and we're looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks when you return.  As I told you, Tara is very excited at having a new friend her age (even though this disease brought them together!).  From the moment when Li bounded up from her chair in the MRI waiting area to greet Tara, Tara felt a special bond.

I hope Li's nausea goes away soon, and I know the rest of her recovery will be smooth.  Take care, and we'll be talking soon!

Big hugs to all of you,
Jill

Hello Tingxin,

I hope things are still going well with Li.  She is a beautiful girl that every girl should look up to.  She has been through so much in her life.  We hope this is the last hurdle she has to go through.

Li,  good luck with your second surgery.  You are strong and your second one should go as well, if not better (like Kathie), as your first.  We will be with you in prayers and our hearts. Smiley

We are glad we could be there for you.  It was great therapy for us.  You supported us too. Thank you.

God Bless,

Kathie and Jim

Hi,

Again, thank every one for your nice words. Li's next surgery is scheduled on March 1. We pray that every thing will go as smooth as last time.

Li is basically recovered, the nausea was gone since last Sunday.

Jim and Kathie: We hope Kathie recovered as well and the headach is gone.

Jill: I saw you give people so much support on line also. Just want to thank you again for all your time, effort.

Tingxin

Hi, Tingxin.  My name is Alexis Shin, and if you go to the MM family gathering thread, you can see the story of my daughter Claire, 10 years old, and all the warm support that we received from the "gang".  We were blessed to be helped by DJ, the man himself.  Not only I thank him for creating this website, and saving our lives on top of numerous families, we cannot thank him enough for showing up at 6 AM in the morning to be with us when Claire had angiogram, babysitting for Elliott, Claire's little brother, just hanging out with us during the agonizing hours of Claire's surgery.  I cannot thank Jill, Tara, and Campbell enough, either.  I have been caught up with my life with kids' school, my work, and homelife, and regret that I do not keep up with them enough.

Anyways, I would like to congratulate you on Li's successful surgery, and good luck on her second.  Having two surgeries two months apart will be much easier on her than having two surgeries back to back, as do a lot of out-of-towners.  Claire had surgery on right side only, but we are going back on March 25 to do follow-up studies.  Yes, Jill, we are looking forward to meeting with you.  Claire's left side also has trace of MM, and we'll know better about when to do surgery by then.  Stanley tells me that we should be prepared to stay there longer in case she needs second surgery.

Too bad that we cannot meet with you at STanford, as your daughter's surgery will be early March.  I very much like to have Claire meet your daughter, as like a "big sister" thing.  Good luck on your second surgery and, whenever you would like to get in touch with me feel free to send me an e-mail.

Alexis Shin

Hello Tingxindan & Li,

It was great to hear Li's voice again like "nothing happened." I know how that nasuea felt...if you can endure that you can endure almost anything. Yes, it's awful but it's all over.
You'll have the left side done with flying colors Li, NO NEED TO WORRY ANYMORE.

Thank you for thanking me but.....they say "what goes around comes around" I got my support from this WEB SITE and if it wasn't for them I would have not gone to Stanford. Like Li I would have continued going to UCLA and maybe waited too long for the surgery, although UCLA is great too.

But thanks to Jill, Tara, Michelle,Trina,David,Terry,Akama-san and all of you on the board,  last but not least  DJ-our man,  I am here.

Therefore, if you can help any ONE person with MM etc. IT'S ALL SAID AND DONE! Thank YOU for listening to me, too.

I am soooo happpy for Li and your family that everything went well and the only complain LI had was not being able to wash her hair! HAHAAHAA!

LOL,
irene
