Clexane Injections (again)
Apr 4th, 2006 at 4:12am

yo crew...
well today i got to give myself my first clexane injection... and let me tell you, i totally kicked ass over the nurses!
last time round i'd get a bruise immediately (within an hour) ranging from a 20c peice to about 4cm in diameter... and they often hurt....
but this time my "bruise" is about the size of my little fingernail (4hrs afterwards)... and no pain at all...

yehaa, that's what i'm talking 'bout!

Hi Emily,

WOW! It seems you've missed your calling to be a nurse. With results like that, you may have a lot of requests for injections. No kidding! If you can do the injections with little to no bruising it seems to me the nurses could too.  Smiley

Glad to hear you didn't have bruises the size of melons.

Hang in there.

Hugs,

Lore

Great job, Emily!!   I think you do a better job than the nurses do because you have a vested interest  Wink  When Daphne needed twice-daily shots (for her seizure disorder), at first I was so petrified to do them myself and was so afraid to hurt Daphne.  But once I got up the nerve to do it, I also felt like I did a better job than most of the nurses...  after awhile, when Daphne had to be hospitalized, I would insist on doing the shots myself because she'd never bruise when I did them.   This paid off, because there was more than one occasion when I discovered that the hospital pharmacy had given the wrong dose   Shocked

Hi Emily

At least it is heading for winter - you will not have to bare your bruises on the beach !

Enjoy your Easter (hope you don't overdose on the chocolate).
