Hello, MM family!!
My daughters had their surgeries back in November and December of 2003 and March, 2004. Back then, we were overwhelmed with all of the friends, family and neighbors that helped us so much during that time, and the prospect of how to thank all of them!
In September of 2003 we decided to have a party. We invited all of the friends, family, neighbors and health care workers that had made such a huge difference during the scariest time of our lives. We gathered them together, to tell them how much we loved and appreciated them. We also wanted to celebrate that all three of our children were still here, and our daughters' prognosis was good! We decided to call it our "Life is Good" party, and even got each of us "Life is Good" tshirts to wear that day. Our party was so successful, that we decided to do it every year, on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
Every year during the party, I've made a speech. The first year was to thank everyone for how they helped us while our daughters were in the hospital. The second year was to thank them for holding my hand, as we began to let our daughters start going back to school, after school activities, play dates without Mom tagging along!
This year, I want all of you to know, that you'll be part of my speech. I'm sure I can't find the words to describe how much this website and the weekend in Orlando has helped me. Having such wonderful people to talk to about about MM stuff - it's priceless, and has made such a huge difference for me!!
If anyone of you are feeling spontaneous, and would like to travel up to NH for Labor Day weekend, we'd love to have you at our party. If not, please know that all of you will be in our hearts that day. If you think of it, raise a glass with us that day to our toast - Life is Good!!
Lots of love,
Kristen
