My name is Pamela Lomas I was diagnosed at the age of 56  with Moyamoya in January 2006 by Dr. Marco Silva in Beaumont Texas. Despit all of my pleading he would not preform the surgery, he sent me to Dr Dennis Vollmer in Houston.
I cannot tell you the relief I felt after talking with him, I didn't want to have the surgery. He explained what a STA-MCA bypass was and how he would do it and exactly what my results would be.
I had surgery a week and a half later on my left side at Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston. My expected stay was a week but I went home  after 3 days.
Dr Vollmer was an excellent doctor and the care I received at Memorial Hermann was excellent. When it comes time to do my right side  I know I will be in the best hands
