2nd of 2 down....hopefully done
Dec 4th, 2008 at 11:29am

Well it has been a long while since I've been on here.  I had my 2nd surgery on my left side Oct. 28, 2008.  To start off...everything was ok...while I was in the hospital.  Aside from my usual sickness from anesthesia and all the pills I was having to take, everything seemed to be in order.  But maybe a day or two after I got back home...I started having trouble with talking.  This condition progressively got worse over the next 2 weeks.  There were a few nights I couldnt talk at all.  And my ability to think was really messed up.  I had to have my wife and dad read to me anything I wanted to read...plus they had to do it a couple of times so I could understand what they were saying.  This was VERY frustrating...but finally somewhere around mid 3rd week...my issues were starting to taper down.  The only reason I didnt contact my doctor is b/c I have both read and talked with people on this website who had gone through very much the same things.  I figured if I could save myself another doc bill and just wait it out...then I would.  First and foremost...I prayed.  I prayed everyday.  Prayer is at least the ONE TRUE thing you stand on and know you're right in what you're doing.  And you know what?  God came through for me.  As He would for anybody who asked Him for His help.  Our God is a loving God.  And I want to take every opportunity that I can to let everyone else know.  Even if you already know...its worth getting a refresh on it.  Put your trust in God.  Let Him hold your hand through your tough times.  You may not always get the answer you want...but you get an answer.  Dont be discouraged if you dont get the answer you want...because maybe it wasnt in His plan for you.  Trust and believe in our Savior.  He is alive!!!  God bless you all and take care.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!  JESUS is the reason for the season...remember that.  Lets stop making it about how many presents we can all get...Put Jesus in the center.  Realize without Him we wouldnt even have this holiday to celebrate.

Under His authority...

Fred

Hey Fred

Well done, you are an extremely brave individual to not contact your doctor. I'm glad to hear how well you are now and I'm sure you'll go from strength to strength.

Lily,

Thank you so much for that.  It fills me with a joy to know that I was able to help you like that.  But honestly I can only speak from my own experience.  And its like I said...I want to take every opportunity that presents itself to let any and everyone know how much our God loves us.  To be honest...my "scripture" through this whole thing was Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."  I took that to mean that no matter what...God was with me to hold my hand.  And since everything went well...He was there to hold my hand and lead me back to my loving wife and kids.  But had everything not gone to plan...God still would have been there holding my hand, except he would have been there to hold my hand and lead me home.  Either way I was covered...and to put that complete trust in Him was a relief.  I know that had the worse had happened...He would have placed people in my families lives to get them through and lead them through as well.
I am so sorry about not responding to this earlier than this...and it is my hope and prayer that everything has gone as you wanted it to.  Please respond and let us all know how your husband and family are doing.  I will pray for you.

God bless you...

Under His authority,

Fred
