Question for Moyamoya and seizures
Dec 15th, 2008 at 11:42am

My daughter had an Epilepsy sleep study done. Her neurologist said it shows she is having right sided frontal lobe seizure activity in her brain. She had Moyamoya two years ago on her left side along with the strokes and surgery on her left side. Her neurologist said it's possible the Moyamoya could be spreading to her right side. Her neurosurgeon has scheduled a CT angio for her on 2/6/09 to make sure the Moyamoya isn't spreading and to check on the size of her aneurysm.
Has anyone ever experienced this before as a sign of the disease spreading to the other side of their brain?
Thanks,
Lori ( Emily's Mom)

Lori,
I am sorry to hear Emliy is not doing well Cry. I have unilateral MM, and My nurologest is concerned about it "spreading". My nurologest said that since it not as well documented if MM does "spread", he has an anual appointment with me. He also requests that I keep a journal about any symptons I think could be MM related. Even if it is " I woke up this morrning and my hand was numb  for about 1 minute I think I might have slept on it." He will look at the comments and then decide wether or not to do an angiogram. Some times he just does one when he feels like he needs to. In my case I had a very very small sign of it  before my surgery, and after a year there is almost no sign. I had an angiogram one year ago as well (4years after surgery) and no sign so far.
I hope this helps. I will pray for you and Emily.
