Kate got her first summer job!!

Hi, all!

Just want to brag for a minute about how proud I am of my daughter!! Smiley

About a month ago, she decided to get serious about finding her first official summer job. She worked with a teacher at school to create a resume - it was very impressive!!

We went out one weekend, and between turning in paper applications and applying online, she applied for TWENTY different jobs!!

I'm sure it's probably the same way everywhere, but teachers at school have been telling the kids that with the economy, even summer jobs are nearly impossible to get, since they're competing with college graduates and grown ups that have been laid off.

Well, just before the gathering in Philly she was called for an interview, and it went so well, they asked her to come back for a second interview. (Can you imagine? A SECOND interview to be a cashier/bagger at a grocery store?). She had her second interview on Thursday, and SHE GOT THE JOB!! Smiley

The manager told her that her most bubbly employee had recently left, and Kate was going to replace her!! Awwww!!

She starts orientation tomorrow, and I'm so darn proud of her I can't stand it!! Smiley

Just thought I should tell the world!!

Welcome to the "working world" LOL. I remember when my daughter got ehr first paycheck...She was so bummed to see how much she would have made if so much didn't get taken out.(taxes etc.). I have to say having a job that payed so little is what's kept her in school for so many years and now in law school. Keep up the good work.
