Hi. I was diagnosed in February and just got through all of my tests. I meet with Dr. Zager at The University of Pennsylvania on Monday to discuss the MRI/MRA/angiogram results and probably schedule surgery, but I was just wondering if you could help me out.

What are the follow up procedures after surgery? I know every doctor is probably different, but I just want to prepare myself.

I'm lucky to have my husband at every single appointment. My in laws live nearby and will be trading off taking care of my two boys with my mom.

It is good that your husband is able to help you, I found it to be hard work, good luck. My wife had several issues with the surgical incision getting infected that required drains put in the scalp and antibiotics. She had PET scans done and some other test that were not invasive, no more angiograms for her, she's had enough of that. A lot of physical/occupational/speech therapy for deficits from strokes prior to surgery, no strokes after surgery. Dilantin and something to prevent clots, no other meds.
