Temperature sensitivity (Read 4719 times)

Posts: 11	Temperature sensitivity Sep 12^th, 2012 at 11:25am Our now 9 year old daughter has MoyaMoya and has had surgery to correct the issue in 2010 and 2011. She is doing great, but she has a sensitivitie to cold and hot temperatures and says she gets wobbly or walks funny for about 30 seconds and then is fine. Does anyone else know what this is or has this same problem. Any input would be great.

But I'm OK with cold, but due to the thin hair after surgery, my scars do feel funny kinda (tightened?) when the cold wind blows on my head, but fell fine with a scarf or hat.

Thanks so much for the responces. At least I know we are not alone in the. To give everyone an expamle of one situation. We were driving to Virginia and stopped at a Wendy's. It was freezing cold, even to me. She said she felt cold and then she said Mom I feel funny. So my husband took her out of the Wendy's and she walked a little stiff for about 30 seconds and then was fine. She did not drink particularly well on the trip and I have a feeling that may have contributed as well.

It is so nice to have this board to help.

When I first had my stroke back on 2010, I was sensitive to both heat and cold. The heat even though at a comfortable temp for my wife would feel like I was in an oven. Then the cold I felt as if i was getting hypothermia. Now after about two years later and finding out it was due to central pain syndrome, I can tolerate heat, but not the cold.
