Will my husband act different after surgery?
Jun 13th, 2013 at 3:19am

My husband is having surgery next week and I am worried that his personality might be altered.  I know that might sound silly but you often hear about people changing after brain trauma.  Is this an issue?

Hello. I think for me the surgery was the less significant factor causing the changes I went through. Aside from the damage from strokes , it's the emotional and psychological experience that played a major role  in change. Overtime (13 years post surgery) having to face your mortality and surviving was very liberating. I feel I have shed many misconceptions causing me to be unhappy. This has had a positive effect in my relationship with my wife and we both are happier and more deeply attentive towards each other.  Hope all goes well for you.
