My daughter who is 6, and has Down Syndrome recently had some blood work done and her iron levels were extremely low and is also anemic, which was some what suspected but surprised to see how low the levels where.  She is currently on iron supplements and blood will be retested this week.  There are a few concerns as to why this is happening, which with the next blood test will help rule out some of the concerns.  The one big concern at this time is the high risk for another stroke or seizure.  Does anyone else have problems with low iron and or anemia?   

We have also been advised to be careful when she is playing with the fear of a injury that can cause a bleed until her blood levels get back to a normal range.
