TIA after surgery?
Oct 18th, 2019 at 5:03pm

My wife had STA MCA surgery on Oct 8 at Stanford, performed by Dr. Steinberg. The surgery went off well and she was recovering well.

On Oct 14th, her left hand went limp for a few minutes. We took her to the emergency at Stanford. She was monitored and discharged the same day. MRI the next day suggested two small strokes.

The team at Stanford is not too concerned at the moment.

Am interested to know if others have experienced similar events after surgery;
Did the episodes return and if so at what frequency?

Understand every case is unique; but would like to know how common it is

Thanks
