Nancy,

Dr Steinberg had me on blood thinners (Aggrenox) before my surgeries, but I've been on aspirin therapy ever since.  I take 325mg a day.  Maybe you could ask your doctor about putting Emily on a "baby aspirin" therapy?  They make those 80mg tablets, or whatever they are.

I had several small TIA's after each of my surgeries, but nothing since Feb after my second surgery in Jan.

Maybe a daily regiment of aspirin would help?
