Cally had both sides of the brain done. Her scars are above her ears. They look like an upside down horse shoe. Each surgery required about 40 stitches. Dr. Dauser used a scalp artery to replace the old one. He also invented a procedure where he cuts a square piece of the brain dura and lays it directly on the brain. He said that this makes the blood vessels multiply tremendously. He was writing an article (and using pictures of Cally's brain.
