David's First Surgery
Jun 22nd, 2004 at 7:11pm

David's first surgery went very well.  He went from a
-1.2 blood flow in the left side to a +20.  He is still in recovery room, so I haven't actually seen him yet, but Dr. Steinberg is very pleased with the graft.

Angie,

I'm Cara's Mom...while we have known 3 1/2 years she "may" have MM...it was finally confirmed last Friday at the Rochester Mayo in Minnesota.  Cara is six now...hasn't had a major stroke yet....plenty of TIA's and left side movements...has a 100% blockage on right side and her left side is supplying both sides...but is scheduled for her first surgery July 14.  We live in Arizona.  I was wondering how old is David...and look forward to reading his updates.  Today is my first posting.  So glad all went well today for you guys.

Tight Hugs from one MM mom to another MM mom,

Carol

Hillary...oops....thanks for telling me....but I feel we are all in the same boat...thankful to have each other...the MM family.

Angie...no need to tell me your husband's age...I should have kept reading all the other threads to find out...if its a child or an adult.

My prayers to everything regardless what stage of MM they are in.

David is hoping to leave the hospital today.  He has had some trouble with numbness in his hands and speech, so it may be Saturday.  Otherwise, he is doing very well and is scheduled for his next surgery on Tuesday.  Thanks everyone for all of your support!

Well, have the operation on the left side is done.  Had some problem and spent some time ICU but now I am out of the hospital just today and back in the hospital tomorrow for the second operation.  Hope the surgery will be easy than the first one.  Most every is ok now.  Just a little speech problem.  Anyway, hopefully everything will be done tomarrow and everything will be fine.  Will write more messages in a couple days.

Hi

My name is Kathy and I just read your message on the board.  I am so sorry for the troubles you are going through.  I know what you are going through also.  I had some of the same when I had my left side operated on in March.  I will go Wed 30th and have my right side done.  One of my problems I had was a seizure and could hear the nurses but could not move or speak to them for awhile then baby gargle came out.  Very scarry.
I am praying for you and will find out how you are doing when I come back from Miami.

Kathy
