I know what you are going thru. My six year old daughter had her surgery two years ago. It was a long recovery for her. She had a fever that wouldn't go away for two weeks and was in the hospital for almost one month. Even after getting out of the hospital it was a long recovery. She had physical and speech therapists that I finally got insurance to approve that came to our home. It was much cheaper that way. If I would have had to bring her to speech and physical therapy I would have had to pay a co-pay for each visit. She had her surgery on June 20th and the swelling started to go down after a few weeks but then it started to swell back up by the end of July. We took her back to her surgeon and he ended up taking her off of her Coumadin(blood thinners) because the medicine was causing it. Anyways, it took about five months by the time she was given the ok to go back to school. She is now in the first grade and learning to read and I am so proud of her.
