My thoughts are, I am looking for a local support group for moyamoya. My six year old(almost 7) with moyamoya. She has had it her whole life, and probably doesn't know the difference when somethign is wrong, enough to tell us.  I was hoping to find a child her age, that she could relate to and develop a friendship that could help her in her teenage years. We just had a yearly check up and they said there were quite a few patients in the area, but of course couldn't tell us more. I hope they frequent this site and we could meet.

Just now seeing this.  Unfortunately, I am not a child with this disease, but I do have it.  Both my brother and I were diagnosed with it and have had surgeries.  I am 39 and he is 37.  We live in the Fredericksburg, VA, area and we do get to the Charlottesville area every now and then.  We would love to meet Megan and be of help in any way we can to her, to you, family...whoever.  Let us know how we can help.

Dave -

I live a little further away - just wanted to let you know to watch the 2011 Reunion thread...I know it's a year away - but it's going to be in Philadelphia and there will most likely be other kids there!
