4th week after indirect bypass - still swollen
Mar 8th, 2018 at 2:01pm

Hi There!
Just curious about other people's experiences with indirect bypass surgery, namely the swelling that occurs.
I had mine on 2/9/2018 (roughly 4 weeks ago) and I am still experiencing swelling just below the incision site.
The incision is on my left side, starting at my temple area then ending in front of my ear.
In fact, I have had to take an arm off of my glasses to not cause pressure on the swollen area.
I was told that since there is a lot of muscle in the area that the swelling would last awhile.
Anyways, please let me know how long your swelling lasted.
Thank you!

My son had an indirect at 2. Swelling lasted 4 to six weeks. There was one small spot behind the ear that took about 8 months to get back to normal size. Everyone will be different. Trust your doctor. Hope this helps.
